The subject of Hand writing analysis and graphology is one that is all-consuming - something that mixes a liberal amount of science with art and a hint of intuition.
Graphology, or handwriting analysis, is a science, which involves producing a complete personality profile of a certain writer by taking into consideration certain traits, characteristics and strokes of the person’s handwriting.
Although it may seem impossible to most of you, it is a known fact that a skilled graphologist can gather a tremendous amount of information about a writer just by reading and analyzing his or her writing. Strange or absurd though it may seem, apart from a creating a complete personality profile of an individual, handwriting analysis also tends to reveal many other aspects to a person’s life like morality, hidden talents, health issues, mental problems, past experiences - to name a few.
The interest in the subject of handwriting as an indicator of certain personality traits has its origins way back in history. More than 2,000 years ago, the great scholar Aristotle observed that there was a correlation between an individual’s handwriting and his or her personality. Similarly, the Chinese also made the connection between writing and character.
Handwriting is a very individualistic and personal trademark of our personalities. Since there are no two people who have the same handwriting, signatures have been used for thousands of years now as a way of legally binding documents of every kind. An individual’s handwriting is his very own private seal or trademark that cannot in any way be reproduced by someone else. A graphologist, by using certain scientifically proven graphological techniques along with specific concrete psychological theories will be able to decipher codes and then translate it into something that is akin to a meaningful description of the writers personality.
What is Handwriting Analysis all about?
Handwriting analysis is very similar to body language and is a projective technique that can evaluate a person’s behavior with respect to his thinking style, social skills, work habits, achievements and even his way of dealing with stress! It is more or less a method of studying and analyzing the frozen graphic structures that are generated within the brain and hence placed on paper in a cursive or printed style.
It is a way in which we can compare different personality types and establish their potential in areas like interpersonal skills, problem-solving prowess, and so on. Through handwriting analysis, it is very easy to observe the emotional development of a person.
What is Handwriting Analysis NOT about?
As opposed to common belief, graphology or handwriting analysis is not a form of predicting the future - it isn’t fortune telling and it is not in any way mixed up with the occult! It does not in any way predict the future, except by possibly describing certain possible future actions or behavioral patterns.
It is not the cure-all or elixir for solving every problem in the world! Above all, handwriting analysis should not be used to invade the privacy of a person.

Even though intuition does play a major role in graphology, just like in any type of analyses, it doesn’t necessarily have to influence or affect any interpretations made by the handwriting expert until all the scientific theories have been validated. However, i lay emphasis on the fact graphology does not predict the future. Of course, there have been many cases wherein altogether penetrating and extraordinary deductions have been made.

It is through these investigations that the subject of graphology can be and is truly justified.
